Hymn: “Angels from the Realms of Glory” LSB#367
P: The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
C: For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given.
P: His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
C: The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
P: The word became flesh and dwelt among us.
C: Glory to God in the highest and peace to God’s people on earth.
All: I confess to God Almighty, before the whole company of heaven and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned in thought, word, and deed, by my fault, by my own fault, by my own most grievous fault; wherefore I pray God Almighty to have mercy on me, forgive me all my sins, and bring me to everlasting life. Amen.
P: In the mercy of almighty God, Jesus the Christ was born of the Virgin Mary to suffer and die to pay our debt. For His sake God forgives us all our sins. To those who believe in Jesus Christ He gives the power to become the children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit. May the Lord, who has begun this good work in us, bring it to completion in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
C: Amen.

Sermon
CONFESSION OF FAITH: THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life + everlasting. Amen.
